Jackie Smith

Since fulfilling a lifelong dream of moving to Cornwall in 2016 I have gained huge inspiration from the big skies, tide-washed beaches and endlessly changing light and colours of the wonderful landscapes in this area.

Prior to this life changing move, having completed a Fashion and Textiles Degree specialising in printed surface decoration, I worked for many years as a fabric and wallpaper designer for companies such as Laura Ashley and Harlequin. Subsequent to that I worked for several design agencies and my work has been published as fine art prints, used for cards and wrapping paper and also decorated saucepans, mugs, stationery and many other items.

Living in Cornwall has given me a new freedom of expression in my work and I’m constantly striving to capture the fresh, clean atmosphere, colours, space, natural drama and peaceful moments that this beautiful place can provide.

My works are painted in both oils and acrylics at my home studio in St. Hilary.
