Linda Craig

I grew up in North London and studied Art and Design at Ware and Watford Colleges in Hertfordshire.  Since moving to Cornwall I have worked slip casting for Lamorna Pottery and was responsible for setting-up the New Street Gallery Artists’ Co-operative in Penzance.  I work from my studio at Bejowans Farm near St Buryan and take part in Cornwall Open Studios each year.  Every week I hold an art class at Sancreed House as part of the Space for You Project.  Besides being a member of the Cowhouse Collective I have work on permanent display at Morvah Schoolhouse and The Roundhouse Gallery at Sennen Cove.

I am influenced by ancient art and am particularly inspired by naive and folk art.  I produce colourful Collographs and Black and White Lino-prints on my little flat-bed press and have two small kilns in which my Ceramic pieces are stoneware fired using a grogged white clay from St Agnes Claypits a few miles up the coast and glazed in cobalt blue and white glossy or turquoise and copper matt glaze.
