Linda Craig

Originally from North London I worked in local government before studying Art and Design and Ceramics at Ware and Watford Colleges. I was a Trustee of The Courtyard Arts Centre Hertford teaching classes in Ceramics and  became a fellow of The Digswell Art Trust which gave me my first studio practice.  In 2003 I became artist in residence at Pishiobury Park Sawbridgeworth and produced a site specific ceramic sculpture for the park.

In 2005 I relocated to Cornwall and worked slip casting for Lamorna Pottery and in 2006 became a member of the Cowhouse Gallery.  I have helped set up the collective at the New Street Gallery in Penzance and worked for The Space for You Project providing workshops in Art and Pottery.   From my studio at St Buryan I took part in Cornwall Open Studios.
Sadly I have stopped creating in clay for a while and am concentrating on painting and printmaking.
My limited edition collographs are a snap shot of local images often including flora and fauna, each collograph is inked up separately so that no two are the same.  I draw my influences from folk art and ancient cultures.
My paintings are intimate naive portrayals of Cornish scenes especially those around me in Penzance.  I live on the harbour where there is an endlessly changing scene.  I am a member of the Association of British Naive Artists.
I am now pleased to be represented by Webbs Fine Art Gallery in London.
