Carol Chapman

I became interested in sculpture whilst living in Surrey and attending classes at the local Adult Education Centre.

After moving to North Cornwall in 1990, I studied with the Open College of Art, qualifying in both Art and Design and Sculpture.

I have been a member of the Boscastle Group since its beginning and still exhibit regularly with them.

My medium has been almost entirely polished concrete, but more recently ceramics. My work is mostly in the abstract, concentrating on strength of line to create form; but I also enjoy figurative work and abstracting from the human (and sometimes animal!) form.
